Clive Palmer is back; lodges triplet of new trade marks

Palmer_United_LogoEccentric mining magnate Clive Palmer has lodged three new Australian trade marks, with two covering his new political party and another for ‘Palmer Pictures’.

He lodged trade mark applications on May 10 for ‘Palmer United Party’ and ‘Palmer United’, two days before formally announcing the name change from the original ‘United Australia Party’.

The application for ‘Palmer Pictures’ – TM number 1553255 – was lodged on April 23, and covers 10 classes of goods and services – from entertainment and computer services to clothing and transport (to see them all, click to see a screenshot of the application).

A search for Palmer Pictures only reveals a small US-based family photography company.

All the new trade mark applications lodged by Palmer and legal representative, Baljeet Singh, are at the status of ‘Indexing Approved’.
